The drama 'Judge from Hell', which captured the attention of viewers with its intense visuals and overwhelming directing
The reason why the characters and scenes in this work were implemented more realistically is

 because of the precise 3D scanning technology.

Using Replica's full-body scan photo booth and Polyga Compact S1 PRO,

 we were able to perfectly scan the actor's appearance and use it for CG.
The sophisticated scan data, such as the eyes, teeth, 

and fine wrinkles on the skin, came out naturally in the drama.

The drama 'Judge from Hell' is a work that exquisitely combines fantasy and realistic elements.
The intense judge character and the overwhelming CG scenes that appear in the drama were really great!
However, in order to implement these scenes,

 extremely precise 3D scan data is needed that goes beyond simple special effects.

전신스캔 포토부스에서 촬영하면 360도로 30초 안에 촬영되며 퀄리티도 좋지만

총 3번 스캔을 진행하는데 이때 중요한건 표정이 달라지지 않아야합니다.

스캔 시 머리는 최대한 다 넘기고 진행합니다.

필요없는 부분은 지우고 매쉬 수정해준 후 최종적으로 OBJ파일로 보내드린답니다.

거북이 등껍질의 곡선과 무늬들을 디테일하게 스캔하고

색감이 보이는 그대로 나타나야하기에 DSLR로 텍스쳐 작업까지 해줬답니다.

안에 뼈가 있기때문에 손상되지 않게 조심하며 진행했습니다.

I scanned the curves and patterns of the turtle shell in detail and

 even did texture work with a DSLR so that the colors could be seen as they were.
Because there were bones inside, I had to be careful not to damage them.

이렇게 수동 턴테이블 위에 놓고 조금씩 돌려가며 360도 스캔해줍니다.

등껍질을 앞뒤로 스캔 후 병합하면 되는데

스캔 시 최대한 위치가 틀어지지않게 조심하며 스캔해주면 된답니다.

3D 스캔 전 자석마커를 이렇게 기기에 꼼꼼하게 붙여줍니다.

자석마커를 이렇게 꼼꼼하게 붙여주는 이유는 여러가지가 있답니다!

1. 자석마커가 스캔 포지션간의 기준점 역할을 하기 때문입니다.

자석 마커는 서로 다른 스캔 포지션 간의 공통 기준점을 제공해,

데이터를 자동으로 정렬하고 이어 붙이는 데 도움을 줍니다.

​

2. 복잡한 구조물에서 정확도가 올라갑니다.

곡선이 많고 복잡한 구조물을 스캔할 때, 기준점이 없으면

데이터가 어긋나거나 정렬에 오류가 생길 수 있습니다.

자석 마커는 구조물 표면에 고르게 배치되면서,

드라마 촬영에서는 촬영 스케줄, 날씨, 장소의 접근성 등 여러 이유때문에

현장을 보완하는 CG 작업이 많이 이루어 져서 3D스캔 데이터가 필수랍니다.

삽교호 놀이동산은 오래된 놀이기구와 다양한 조형물로 구성되어 있어서,

디테일한 부분까지 꼼꼼하게 작업을 진행했습니다.

현장 스캔 작업을 시작하기 전, 사전 계획을 세워 각 위치에서 필요한 장비와 포지션을 정리하였답니다.

This is Sapgyoho Amusement Park in Dangjin, Chungnam, which appeared in episode 8 of Judge from Hell.

During drama filming, CG work to supplement the site is done a lot due to various reasons such as filming schedule, 

weather, and accessibility of the location, so 3D scan data is essential.

Sapgyoho Amusement Park is composed of old amusement facilities and various sculptures, 

so we worked meticulously on even the most detailed parts.

Before starting the on-site scanning work, 

we made a preliminary plan and organized the necessary equipment and positions for each location.

스캔 데이터의 완성도를 높이기 위해, 놀이기구와 구조물의 실제 텍스처를 DSLR로 촬영했습니다.

그래서 금속의 광택, 페인트 벗겨짐, 녹슨 흔적 등 실제 표면의 질감을 그대로 나왔답니다.

Using a wideband scanner, we captured the main structures and collected data in about 2 minutes per position.
While maintaining this time, we were able to secure connectivity between scanned objects to perfectly integrate all data.

To increase the completeness of the scan data, we captured the actual textures of the rides and structures with a DSLR.
That way, the textures of the actual surfaces, such as the gloss of the metal, 

peeling paint, and rust marks, were captured as they were.

각 스캔 포지션에서 발생한 미세한 겹침이나 오차를 수정하고,

불필요한 데이터를 제거해 최종 결과물을 최적화했습니다.

We corrected any minor overlaps or 

errors that occurred at each scan position and removed unnecessary data to optimize the final result.

가방은 텐트에 비해 크기가 작고 상대적으로 단순해 보일 수 있지만, 소재의 질감과 디테일이 중요한 작업입니다.

게다가 포켓, 스트랩, 그리고 디테일한 마감선이 잘 나와야하기때문에

정밀 스캐너를 사용하여 소재의 광택과 질감까지도 자연스럽게 표현할 수 있었습니다.

두개는 다른 가방이지만 가방의 주름과 선의 텍스터 등 작은 디테일까지 전부 깔끔하게 표현되었습니다.

특히, 텐트의 프레임 구조, 내부 공간감, 그리고 소재의 주름이나 텍스처를 잘 스캔해야합니다.

스캔 과정에서는 고해상도 스캐너를 사용해 텐트를 스캔한 후, 병합해주었습니다.

답동성당은 건축적 특징이 많아 스캔 작업이 쉽지 않았을 것 같았지만,

15년 이상의 전문가들의 손길로 빠르고 정교하게 진행되었습니다.

이 과정에서 광대역 3D 스캐너가 성당의 외관과 내부를

수많은 포인트 클라우드로 측정해 디지털 데이터를 수집했습니다.

일단 역설계에 대해 먼저 알아볼까요?

스캔 및 분석을 통해 컴퓨터에서 쓸 수 있는 3D 데이터로 추출하는 방식이라고 보시면 됩니다!

보통 전자, 자동차, 건설, 항공기,문화재 같은 분야에서 많이 활용된답니다.

You can think of it as a method of extracting 3D data that can be used on a computer through scanning and analysis!

It is usually used in fields such as electronics, automobiles, construction, aircraft, and cultural assets.

3D 역설계를 하는 이유는 부품은 있지만 도면 데이터가 없거나

경쟁사 제품을 분석하여 좋은 상품, 혹은 새로운 아이디어를 얻기 위해 진행한답니다.

일반적으로 물건을 제작할 때는 가장 먼저 디자인을 설계하게 됩니다.

하지만 만들고자 하는 부품을 실제로 가지고 있는데도 도면 데이터가 없다면 만들 수 없습니다.

오차범위와 시간낭비가 크고 작업자가 힘들다 보니 굉장히 비효율적인 방식입니다.
